In recent years many members from all sections of the Gorsley based Ross Golf Club have taken advantage of the Club’s coaching and training facilities to help them in their ongoing quest ‘to become the best that they can be’.

The Ross Lady Vice Captain, Sally Fycun, and her teenage son, Timmy have both been shining examples over the years which means they can contemplate their respective 2020 golfing seasons with considerable confidence.

Since Timmy was nine years old, he was introduced to the nationally backed Tri-Golf scheme in 2013 when Head Professional Tim Hall’s School of Golf Academy visited Bridstow Primary School where Timmy was a non-sporting pupil.

The teenager’s starting 54 handicap has been impressively reduced to 14.

Along his journey, Timmy can already point to honours board recognition as he has won the annual Alfred Kitchen Cup for Juniors.

At the same time Timmy’s Mum, Sally also started as a complete beginner in golf and has since seen her handicap plummet to 11 to make her within touching distance of becoming a coveted single figure handicap player.
