Ross Golf Club’s Gorsley based tree-lined course continues to attract visitors from far and wide, and members of 40 different clubs from across the Midlands, Wales and the South West supported the latest men’s Senior’s Pairs Open which is for players who are 55-years-old and over.
The standard of play was also exceptional and unusually the final score-sheet showed an abundance of prizes for home players with Club Chairman, Peter Lawrence and in form Richard Tromans being stand-out winners with 48 stableford points. Clive Wilkinson of Tewkesbury Park GC and his Ross partner Alan Laughlin with 43 points were runners-up followed by Elliott Thomas/Kevin Morrill with 43 points and Joe Irvine/Ian Griffiths 42 points both home based partnerships.
Among the winners was the Stroke Association, this being the Charity supported by Ross Club Captain Martin Pimlow in his year and Martin was delighted that £578 was raised through raffles thanks to the efforts of the volunteers and helpers from the Ross Seniors members who contribute considerably to the day’s success which results in win/win outcomes for all parties.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
