The South Herefordshire Golf Club seniors travelled over the border for an away day at Cradoc. The 35 participants had an excellent day with the weather being kind and the course in first class condition, all enjoyed the experience. However, the scores did not reflect the excellent facilities with only five members managing to score 30+ stableford points.
Gerry Newman 36pts won the event with Martin Latham 32pts in second place and Ian Corbitt 31pts in third. The team prize was won by Chris Burgess, Gerry Newman and Trevor Horsfield with Martin Latham, Pete Wilson & Richard Hammett runners up with 71pts. The nearest the pin competitions were won by Terry Gibson & John Barnett.
The seniors home match against Monmouth resulted in a convincing win for the home side 5.5 to 2.5.
Wins for: Eifion Rees and Tony Haile 5&4, John Barnett and David Rippe 2up, Geoff Eyres and Brian Spencer 3&2, Steve Mills and Mike Weller 4&2, Bob Chance and Peter Sawyer 3&2.
Half for Doug Frape and Richard Hammett.
Losses for: Mike Proctor and Pete Wilson 3&2, Gerry Newman and Ian Corbitt 6&5.
The seniors club May medal was played in very wet blustery weather conditions as the scores reflected.
