Unseasonably warm spring weather in February brought a touch of spring fever to two lady members Ellie Teasdale and Penny Cave, who on February 5th, challenged each other in a ‘Keep your Clothes on Challenge’ to see who could wear the most clothes and still be able to wield a club. An amazing total of 175 items of clothing were donned between them and despite all the extra padding, they came second in the competition on the front nine. This challenge was to raise money for the Lady Captain’s charity the Multiple Sclerosis Society and thanks to the generosity of all members and beyond, an amazing total of £1,350 was raised.

On Friday, March 15th, 60 ladies attended the Annual Ladies Dinner and enjoyed a delicious three course dinner provided by the new golf club caterers Boucher Catering. The band Novak and Goode entertained everyone after the meal with excellent music and amusing jokes.

Prizes for the following winter competitions were awarded on the night: Winter Salver: 1st prize Katie Stooke, 2nd prize Sue Johnson Winter Eclectic (16 holes) Denise Boughey Gross 58 Winter Eclectic (16 holes) Jenny Freel Nett 50 Winter Foursomes: 1st prize Jose Wilson and Lois Price, 2nd prize Denise Laird and Jenny Gladwyn

On Wednesday, March 27th, in beautiful spring sunshine, the A team played against Bristol and Clifton in the Bath Aqua Challenge.

It proved to be a hard fought but very enjoyable match with Ross sadly losing to Bristol in the end.
