TWO Handicapper James Morgan has an impressive golfing pedigree at Ross Golf Club and this was underlined and further enhanced recently when James won the Club's 2014 Mike Lane Trophy. For the first time the Trophy winner was based upon the combined gross performances in two 18 hole medal events and James's 151 gross total was enough to win by 2 shots and means he becomes the Club's Men's 2014 Stroke play Champion at the same time as he is the Club's current Men's Match play Champion, a title he deservedly won in 2013. Clearly a worthy Men's Club Champion. The runner-up was Steve Wallbank with a combined total of 153 and his gross 73 medal score in the Centenary Cup, which also represented the 2nd round of the Mike Lane Trophy, made him the best gross and nett performer on the day in a highly competitive competition in which 132 members took part.
