Ross Second XI travelled to Oldswinford & Stourbridge Social CC on Saturday 14th June. Ross won the toss and elected to bowl. Oldswinsford's openers Abeer Ahmed and John Osborne set about Ross' opening bowlers with some determination. Abeer Ahmed scored freely to amass 76 before being caught off Josh Element's bowling. John Osborne carried his bat (73*). Zeeshan Ahmed fell cheaply caught off Charlie Cole's bowling (5) and Jake Brigdale at number 4 added a useful 20 more runs before being caught as Josh Element bagged another wicket. Oldswinsford & Stourbridge posted 231 for 3 off 45 overs. After tea, Ross looked to get some early runs on the board but Richard Jeffryes was adjudged LBW and Ross suffered two consecutive run outs. Josh Element and Ben Element both fell victim to Abeer Ahmed as Dee Springer and Charlie Cole looked to steady the ship. The rain swept in at 20.3 overs and Oldswinford & Stourbridge claimed ten points in a winning draw. Good bowling had eaten into the Ross batting line up, with opening bowler, Abeer Ahmed, inflicting the most damage with 76 from the bat and figures of (10-3-9-2). Michael Robertson claimed the only other wicket (5-2-7-1).
