Ross Rugby Club Juniors are now in their eighth season, running age groups from the pups (aged 4) right through to the U16s.

The Juniors celebrated the start of the season by presenting Riley Knapman-Jefferies with the Winnell Cup.

Each season every age group coach nominates a ‘clubman’ within their age groups. All of these names go into a draw from which the winner of the Winnell Cup is drawn. They also get vouchers to purchase a new pair of rugby boots. Riley was the lucky winner this year. The cup was presented to him by the 1st XV Captain, Casey Morgan, and the Juniors Chairman John G’Napp.

Joe Winnell was President of Ross RFC from 1973-1976. Joe and his wife Mary contributed greatly to the running of the club. Both of their sons played for Gloucester, Rich was a Prop and Phil was a second row. Both returned to play for Ross after playing at Gloucester. The cup has been donated by the Winnell family. The club is very grateful for their ongoing support.

The group is are always looking for volunteers to help run this section. They need coaches, assistant coaches, fundraisers, kitchen volunteers, admin volunteers, plus lots lots more. If you would like to help please contact them via the “contact us” page of the website or through their Facebook page ‘Ross Rugby Club Pups, Minis and Juniors’

Ross RFC Juniors train on Sunday mornings at 10am at the club grounds at Greytree. All new players welcome.
