FIVE MonRoss Trailblazers took on the mighty 22-mile Man v Horse race at Llanwrtyd Wells on Saturday.
Jake McBride tackled the individual event and delivered an outstanding performance, covering the distance in an impressive 4 hours 11 minutes 24 seconds to finish 114th male runner.
‘Rach’s Team’ of Rachael Aitken, Alice Gray and Grant White also put in a great effort in the mixed team relay, recording a cumulative time of 3.36.17 for 70th overall and third in their category.
Vanessa Ward also raced as part of the Wicked for Good team, helping them come home in 4.06.08 for a 175th-place overall finish.
Blazers posted: “What a brilliant showing from everyone involved. Taking on the challenge of Man v Horse is no small feat, and we’re incredibly proud of you all. Congratulations and well done!”
The four-legged entrants and their riders prevailed overall though, Rachel Lima on Zameel reaching the line first in 2.31.37 followed by three other horses.
Fastest runner was Daniel Connolly of the Salomon team who crossed in 2.39.37 in fifth overall.
First woman home was Clare Thurgood of Cambridge and Coleridge AC in 3.36.20.
