Since 32 year old Tim Hall was appointed Head Professional at Ross Golf Club almost two years ago, he has achieved a high level of succes and was named No 1 Golf Professional by the Foremost Buying Group in 2013.
The award meant that Tim was selected to represent England in a 10 man International Team, along with team mates from Ireland, Scotland, Australia and Singapore, in a two day Ryder Cup type event against a USA team for the Oakley Skull Cup. This prestigiouss competition is in its fourth year, and was held recently at the Gainey Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
As the USA team members had to qualify through a series of events throughout 2013 to produce their perfect 10 golfers and included some who had played in US Opens, the omens were not good for the International Team.
After the first day's Four-balls & Foursomes matches, in which Tim, and playing partner Stuart Williamson, had contributed a valuable 1 point, the International team held a remarkable 6-4 advantage. Full report in this week's Gazette.
