A VILLAGE came together last weekend to enjoy a community picnic and take part in a series of games.

The residents of Brampton Abbotts assembled at the village hall for an afternoon of fun in the garden.

Event organiser Ali O’Brien explained that the community holds a number of events throughout the year, making the most of the village hall after it re-opened in 2022 following the devastation caused by the ‘Beast from the East’ during which the roof collapsed, and the flooring suffered from major water damage.

The picnic event included a number of traditional fete games, including Splat the Rat making it triumphant return along with a bouncy castle for children.

The popular Happy Abbott Pub also made an appearance.
