MADAM, I am trying to trace members of my late mother's family. They lived in Ross-on-Wye in the 1920s and 1930s.
My mother was Margaret Alice Elizabeth Witney, I believe she lived with two aunts called Ethel and Rose. Her mother, Beatrice died in 1925 and my mother knew very little about her.
I think my mother lived at Gowdor Cottages, but I cannot find this anywhere. Her mother's maiden name was Gulliman. I do know that there was someone called Allon Baynham and a William Lewis also in the family.
I have located some members of this family and have found some of them have settled in Canada, I have also had a few surprises along the way.
I am going to visit Ross in the very near future and would love to find the place where my mother lived. I do have some photos of the house and in the background is a railway bridge and the church. I think Mr Baynham was a superintendant at a local park. I would be delighted if any one has any information.
