The very best of sport in Ross turned out on Friday night for the inaugural Ross Gazette Sports Person of the Year awards.

It was announced on the night that, at the end of the voting and judging process, Jim Loftus, of Ross Juniors Football Club, was the Sports Person of the Year for 2013, and Niall Powell, of Ross-on-Wye Golf Club, won Young Sports Person of the Year.
