Ross-on-Wye U15s faced Coventry United away and were well beaten, losing 4-1 to the Midlands side.

Despite losing by three goals this was a performance of which Ross Juniors can be very proud.

Playing with no substitutes, because of illness and injury, they held Midlands Junior Premier League leaders Coventry in check with strong defensive play and a lively attack.

Although Coventry took the lead on the stroke of half time, the Juniors weren’t giving up. Josh Ellis gave another towering performance in goal and, in midfield, Will Marshall had his best game in a Ross shirt, man-marking Coventry’s leading scorer with great effect. Will Freer provided a constant outlet for the Juniors counter-attacking game with some quality passing from the left back position.

Ross defended well and were dangerous on the counter attack. Jordan Suttie had a great game in midfield, supplying forwards Luke Firkin and Owain Edwards, who both had good chances on goal.
