On March 31, 2005, the Royal Albert Hall hosted Classic Response, a gala concert in the wake of the Boxing Day tsunami. The ‘Classical Response’ concert featured stars including Russell Watson, Aled Jones, Myleene Klass and G4 and raised nearly £200,000. These funds helped establish a brand-new SOS Village near Puducherry, in Tamil Nadu, South India.
Ed O’Driscoll, who organised the concert, has just embarked on a pilgrimage to the village seeking what had been built — but found far more than bricks and mortar.
